We have recently been going through a period of being quite busy and I have been mentally tested on quite a few occasions. My mentor called me at a time when I had a lot going on. He wanted to meet up with me again. Now I was in a frame of mind of “I have enough challenges going on at the moment, that last thing I need was him challenging my thought processes once again. I don’t have time for you….humph….grumble grumble…..complain”. But we did have a coffee and a good chat which I am glad I spared that time.
Pharmacists Role: Perception vs Realty
Last week I came across an article on news.com.au about a radio host Kristie Mercer from KiisFM’s Thinkergirls. It involved her heading to her segment’s Facebook page to ask the question why it takes so long to get a script at the chemist. She did this by posting a video of herself inside a pharmacy and going on a rant about having to wait. She described it as a “big mystery” and “like the seventh wonder of the world.”

What makes a good Pharmacy Owner?
In my business life I talk to many business owners, from all walks of life with all sorts of different pharmacy operations. I was reflecting the other day on what characteristics there are in successful owners and businesses.
Now for those of you who are longer term pharmacy owners with partners will know there are good pharmacists who make bad business owners. The pharmacists who own pharmacy businesses and who probably shouldn’t. Yet there are also pharmacists who are born for it and excel in being in an ownership role.
